These NUC boxes are made from 7/8″ thick New Zealand Radiata lumber. Kiln-dried to uniform 12% moisture content in our special seasoning kilns Alliance boxes provide stability and great resistance to shrinking, twisting and warping.
There is always clearance between the knot and the edge of the box, removing any risk of edge cracking or fallout, and knots are kept away from the middle of the handle to maintain the utmost strength.

The difference is in the height of the box, deep being the biggest at 9 5/8''(243mm ) , medium 6 5/8'' (169mm) and shallow 5 3/8''(146mm) depth. deep box can be used for brood or oney box but medium and shallow boxes are typically used as honey supers.
